FSRT Course:

cleaningThe Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician course concentrates on technical procedures for successfully completing the restoration of a fire and smoke damaged environment. Students will learn how to combine technical procedures with a practical approach to managing the job site and how that relates to pricing the job. Students will also learn things from the perspective of those in the fire suppression service to help better understand how the behavior of fire affects everything in a structure.

 

 




Detailed Course Description:

  • Fire Science and Behavior – Knowing the behavior and effects of fire and smoke on materials will greatly improve your ability to properly restore a damaged property. Learn how to properly distinguish between items and materials salvageable and those that can’t be saved.
  • Emergency Services – Site security; corrosion mitigation; drying
  • Insurance policy coverages and expectations – Not all claims will have the same policies or procedures. Learn the different types of coverages and what to expect with each
  • Proper communication – This is key in keeping in good standing with your customer and any materially interested parties
  • Detailed Inspection – Soot and heat can affect everything. Learn  what to look for
  • Alternatives -  What is most cost effective and ethical; Clean vs. Replace; RCV vs. ACV
  • Deodorization – Learn and follow the principles of deodorization
  • Cleaning agents and Equipment – Learn the different types of cleaning agents needed for proper restoration and the various pieces of specialized equipment that are accessible for use on fire and smoke damaged properties
  • Detailed Structure and Contents restoration techniques – There are many specialty contents and structural items that will respond differently to a variety of cleaning agents and techniques. Learn how to tell the differences.

CLASS INFORMATION


 Registration & Fees:

 

Course fees include 8 hours of instruction each day, course manual, breaks and lunches.  Registration does not include $65.00 IICRC exam fees.

Cancellation Policy:

In the event the minimum amount of students is not met, class could be cancelled and full payment will be refunded. 

If you cancel within 30 days of class, a $50.00 cancellation fee will apply per student. If you cancel within 10 days of class, no refund will be given. Cancellation fees are non-negotiable.
 
Advanced Restorative Seminars occasionally collects testimonials and comments and photographs students engaged in the activities of the training academy. These may be published in advertisement or marketing literature including, but not limited to newspapers, brochures, magazines, slideshows and our website. Registration indicates permission to be quoted or photographed.
 
By registration or attendance at Advanced Restorative Seminars events, all registrants and/or attendees agree to indemnify and hold harmless Advanced Restorative Seminars,  it's controlling persons, Officers, Instructors, Employees and their successors from any and all personal injury and property damage claims and resulting judgments and expenses made by or on behalf of the registrant.

IICRC Exam Fees:
$65.00 for ALL exams  (except AMRT)
$25.00 for retest – must be completed 
within 90 days of test results
$25.00 for Certified Firm request application

We have special rates with Hampton Inn near the facility. Please contact Hampton Inn below to arrange for your stay. Hampton Inn offers free breakfast, is a beautiful motel, and is within walking distance of several nice restaurants. Hampton Inn is located on Hwy. 321 off of Exit 81 on I-75. The directions below from Nashville and Knoxville to the school can be followed also from the motel, just start with the directions on I-75 S.

There are 3 restaurants within walking distance of the motel and several just a few minutes drive away. If you would like to stay for the weekend, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Smokey Mountains National Park are just a couple hours away.

 From Knoxville: Take I-40 W / I-75 S to split and continue on I-75 S to exit 76 (Sugar Limb Rd). Turn Left onto Sugar Limb Rd. Go to stop sign at Hwy. 11 turn Right. Take Hwy. 11 and cross over Tennessee River Bridge into downtown Loudon. Take the first Left (Grove St.). Then take the first Left (Cedar St.). Take the next Left (Hackberry St.). Park in rear of Loudon Fire Department in gravel lot beneath the bridge. Entrance to classroom is just to the left of the 3 large bay doors.

 From Airport:Leave airport going South towards Maryville on US 129 S. In ½ a mile, go Right at the fork staying on US 129 S. Go approx. 4 miles and turn Right on Hwy. 321. Go approx. 18 miles and turn Left onto Hwy. 11/Broadway. Take Hwy. 11 about 6.5 milesand cross over Tennessee River Bridge into downtown Loudon. Take the first Left (Grove St.).
